To apply for EDP Certification, an individual must meet these minimum eligibility criteria:
- Currently employed in the Electronic Document Systems industry
- Have a minimum of five years work experience in the industry
- Commit to continuous learning and keeping up-to-date in the industry by earning 100 education credits through professional courses, seminars, certifications, and in the classroom
- Accept the EDP Code of Ethics
The next step is to complete the Application for EDP Certification, and pay the US $50 application fee. Once the application has been accepted, you will:
- Receive an email with a link to the EDP Candidate Handbook and next steps to get you started
- Determine if you would like an EDP mentor to guide you through the process
- Be required to submit a portfolio, featuring three work examples that demonstrate your breadth and depth of knowledge in the Electronic Document Systems industry by October 1. Portfolio fees are US $300.
- Candidates are notified of award or denial of certification November 15.
- Certificates are awarded and EDPs are honored at Xplor's Global Conference & Exhibit
Once certified, there are recertification requirements, completed at a consistent pace over five-year cycles. Recertification is earned by participating in education and knowledge-sharing activities. Click on Recertification for more information.
