Eligibility & Process
To apply for the M-EDP designation, an individual must meet these minimum eligibility criteria:
- Must be a current EDP in good standing
- Must provide an outline of contributions to electronic document industry which include:
- Examples of contributing to the electronic document industry above your regular job duties
- Resume with validation/justification on your area of expertise within the electronic document industry. Some examples include: Requirements Gathering, Development, Production, Maintenance, Composition, Print Management, Archive, and Print Technology.
- Three to four page brief displaying the proof that you are recognized as an expert in the electronic document industry on a specific subject matter or expert in a particular skill set (area of expertise).
- Supporting documentation to confirm your proof of expertise. Some examples include: Developing courses for professional CEU credits, White papers, Articles, Research, or XDU Class Instructor.
- Must be currently active in the industry
- Must have recertified as an EDP once and have a minimum of 15 years in industry
OR
- Must have accumulated 300 recertification credits in previous 10 years
If you would like a mentor, please contact the EDP Coordinator. A member of the EDP Commission or a current M-EDP will be assigned to you.
The next steps are required by October 1: 1) complete the M-EDP check list 2) e-mail the M-EDP check list and your completed outline of contributions in a commonly used file format (ex., pdf) to Xplor and 3) pay the US $300 submission fee to:

Please note that hard copy submissions will not be accepted. For your convenience, credit card payments can be processed by calling the EDP Coordinator at the phone number above.
Once your submission has been reviewed by the Expert Evaluation Panel, you will: - Be notified of award or denial of M-EDP designation by November 15
M-EDPs are recognized in several ways:
- Recognized during the Xplor Industry Awards Ceremony at Xplor's Global Document Conference & Vendor Forum
- Celebrated with fellow Electronic Document Professionals during the EDP Luncheon and Meeting
- Named in a press release distributed by Xplor International
To retain your M-EDP designation, you must keep your EDP certification current through the recertification process.
